0.6fte Lecturer in Graphic Communication

Part Time Post: 21.75 hours per week

The University for the Creative Arts has campuses at Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester and is home to 7,000 students from over 70 countries studying on courses in fashion, graphics, design, media, fine art and architecture.

We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational person to join our dynamic Graphic Communication course team. Applicants should be experienced multi-discipline graphic design lecturer/practitioners within the context of print media, interactive media and branding.

You should have professional graphic design practise and/or teaching at HE level with enthusiasm to contribute to the delivery of our curriculum.

You will preferably have an honours degree or relevant professional experience in graphic design and a good knowledge of contemporary developments in graphic design and in the wider communications industries. We are particularly interested in candidates with an established personal research profile or professional reputation.

You must be able to teach students effectively in practical skills, communicate a broad range of practical and theoretical issues relating to the subject and be able to inspire and motivate students. Preferably, you should possess some understanding of current educational issues.

It is desirable that you will have experience of academic and administrative management, be interested in developing areas of research and be able to demonstrate sound evidence of your relevant professional practice.
