Researching Learning & Teaching
The University for the Creative Arts supports scholarship and excellence in teaching learning and assessment in the creative arts through research, reflective practice and knowledge transfer.
We want to integrate discipline research outcomes into approaches to teaching, learning and assessment and develop a pedagogy for the creative arts. We want also to achieve high levels of innovation and generate, disseminate and transfer knowledge and understanding.
Learning and Teaching Research (LTR) Funds are available for research projects from Colleges and individuals in the following Learning and Teaching Research Clusters:
- Linking Teaching and Research
- Learning Support and Student Engagement
- Learning Approaches
- Learning Environments
- Skills and Employability
- The Creation, development and evaluation of a pedagogically sound learning resource
There are institution-wide LTR projects in these clusters and staff are welcome to participate in these projects also.
Learning and teaching also seeks to gain funds from external bodies such as the HigherEducationAcademy and JISC for successful externally funded LTR projects. Individuals or groups (e.g. from subjects or courses) with learning and teaching research proposals can discuss these with Hilaire Graham, Dean Learning and Teaching, at hgraham@ucreative.ac.uk or Karen Paton, Learning and Teaching Academic Developer at kpaton@ucreative.ac.uk
All supporting information and an L&T Research Fund application form can be found on the staff portal in the document store.
